Bible Deliverance Temple was founded in 1963. It was birthed during a revival conducted by the founder and pastor emeritus, Dr. H. K. McKnight. From those early days in the old "Brigham Grocery" building, the church has grown into a complex covering four corners in the heart of historic Augusta, Georgia.
The church has an active Senior Citizen Outreach which conducts a monthly meeting that includes a hot meal and provides the attendees an opportunity to shop - free of charge - at its Harrisburg Neighborhood Food Bank store.
Bible Deliverance Temple has a biblical educational program for all age groups. The church is a member and extension of the Logos Christian College and Graduate Schools and the Logos Global Network, located in Jacksonville, Florida. Their bible college is scheduled to commence in the Spring of 2007.
The ministry of Bible Deliverance Temple has always been a diverse one and is now the parent of Another Chance Minstries which is a nonprofit established by the Senior Pastor Dr. Kelly McKnight. The church has sent ministry teams as far away as South Korea, Haiti, Nicaragua, Belize, Guatemala, India, Africa, South America and Mexico. However, with her interest throughout the years in foreign missions, the church has maintained a thriving home missions program that today receives most of its ministry focus.
For the last seven years Bible Deliverance has been conducting two community outreach programs each week, targeting the children of the Harrisburg Neighborhood. The Monday night "Kid's Club" has an average of 80 children (grades K-5th) enrolled and the Friday night "Community Outreach Program" has an average enrollment of 120 (ages 4-18). These programs provide instruction for character building skills, crafts, nutritional foods, activities and athletics.
The past two years Bible Deliverance Temple in conjunction with Another Chance Ministry Network(ACM) have jointly worked on these of outreach programs in the community but have expanded them. This past year they were instrumental in providing over 11,000 free meals, Christmas presents for over 500 children and families, total Christmas [including a full meal served in their home, clothes and toys for all resident children] for 22 families [85 children], providing clothing over 1400, and made possible affordable housing for 8 families and are getting new people in daily.
Bible Deliverance Temple in conjunction with ACM, along with the volunteers throughout the CSRA conduct an afterschool program Monday-Thursday for ages pre-k through fifth grade and also a Taekwondo School Monday- Friday , targeting the children of the Harrisburg Neighborhood. The after school program has an average of 80 children (grades K-5th) enrolled and the Friday night "Community Outreach Program" has an average enrollment of 120 (ages 4-18). These programs provide instruction for character building skills, crafts, nutritional foods, activities and athletics.
These ministries have several expansions on the drawing board and has a goal of expanding to the next level of "excellence in ministry" that God has destined her to reach.
